Thanks for the notice!
I was assumming that the login as DOM\user is used, but good you pointed this out.
And that said, he is using openVPN, i did also notice that if openvpn is running on the same server,

Samba and OpenVPN servers on the same machine, connect from an OpenVPN client to a Samba share using the folder name:
\\10.8.0.1\\sharename
Samba and OpenVPN servers are on different machines, use folder name:
\\10.66.0.4\sharename
