First and foremost, a missing tab on windows is usually a windows
problem, but I can understand your reasoning. If it works when
connected to a share on one Unix domain member, but not when connected
to a share on another, then this could point to a problem on the Unix
domain member.

Is a firewall running ? and if so, are required ports being blocked ?
Is either selinux or apparmor running and stopping you making changes ?
Can you connect from another windows machine and if so, do you get the
same problem ?
