[Samba] smbclient (Samba 4.9.4) "Unable to initialize messaging context"?

Hmm.. Works as it should here. 
Also stand alone, but with 1 extra patch. 

smbclient -U% -Llocalhost

        Sharename       Type      Comment
        ---------       ----      -------
        print$          Disk      Printer Drivers
        IPC$            IPC       IPC Service (Samba 4.9.4-Debian)
Reconnecting with SMB1 for workgroup listing.

        Server               Comment
        ---------            -------

        Workgroup            Master
        ---------            -------
        WORKGROUP            DEBIAN9TEST

Can you post your smb.conf ?
