I think I got it figured out.  I had some thigns incorrect in my kerberos
settings.

One more thing is that it's not recommended to have a .local domain realm.

Windows Server 2012 Essentials forced me into it.  When you run through the
setup wizard that it requires, it automatically sticks a .local at the end.
  I think it's unavoidable.
