Hallo,

I have a similar issue with sernet-samba 4.2.1 as the thread “[Samba] samba
4.2 RDP problem”.

Updated my environment with three Dcs an two fileservers from sernet-samba
4.1.17-10 to 4.2.1-7 on CentOS 6 / 7.

“Normal” users – working with AD-account at client-PCs with machine-account
at the DCs are doing fine.

At samba 4.1.17 Win7Home-laptops were able to access the
domain-member-fileservers by authenticating with “DOMAINNAME\DOMAINUSER” and
“Pass”.

But after the upgrade they had no access anymore.

The log.smbd at the fileserver says:

# ../source3/passdb/lookup_sid.c: User XXX has Primary Group SID (NULL SID),
which conflicts with the domain sid S-1-5-21-XXXXXXXXXXXX- Failing
operation.

After delete the useraccount at the AD and create it from scratch the user
can now login.

But additionally there is a strange problem too at these machines: the
client can´t get access at the fileserver using the fileserver´s-IP
(xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\SHARE). Only “ <file:///\\FILESERVER-NETBIOS-NAME\SHARE>
\\FILESERVER-NETBIOS-NAME\SHARE” is working

I´m confused. If access via IP works but not using netbiosname this seems to
be a DNS-or nmbd-problem but the opposite is very new to me

Can anybody give a hint?!

-Peter
