deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ wheezy-backports main contrib non-free
#deb-src http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ wheezy-backports main contrib non-free

now.

apt-get install -t wheezy-backports samba
samba wil be upgraded from 3.6.6 ( wheezy ) to 4.1.11 ( or 12 )

If you dont like the -t wheezy-backports then change i the above file ( preferences ) the value 400 to 500.
BUT !!! this wil upgrade all packages from backports which are already on your system.
use with care.

Louis

The samba from wheezy backports is the 3.6.6, right? it is what I had installed with sudo apt-get install samba.

 stop..

Dont install samba4.

Of use sernet-samba
or use samba from wheezy backports.

samba4 is the most bad version.
