[Samba] Samba 3.6 or Samba 4

Hi Samba team,

Working on a file server solution, i would like to install your solution but i get problems with your last version ! 

I find a lot of person in the same case about samba4 ! 

Could you please clear my mind about what i can/must install thinking that we have a microsoft AD (and for some reason we must keep it at this time) and GPO working on ! 

Will samba 3.x compatible with SMB2+ and SMB3 or samba4 only … ?
