Thank you for the response, and the link to my own post when I was
trying to solve this same problem. I can't imagine how the working
configuration I had then got changed. I see that I was at CentOS 6.2
then. Perhaps one of the upgrades from 6.2 to 6.3, and then 6.4, over
wrote the file. I've got a good file now and a good backup of it.
The problem was solved by the addition of:
use client driver = yes
to the [printers] section of the smb.conf file and a service smb restart.
