We choose this default only if you compile with
--enable-developer=yes. It is intended for developers which
want to attach to the crashed process with gdb.

For the cifs mounting crash Jeremy Allison probably has a
fix. This just sounds too similar to bug #6776.

For #6771: You might want to look at "ldapsam:editposix=yes".
