what happens when you create a [profiles] share such as:
[profiles]
path = /var/lib/samba/profiles
writeable = yes
create mask = 0600
directory mask = 0700
browseable = no
csc policy = disabled
guest ok = yes
and set /var/lib/samba/profiles permissions to 1700?
