[Samba] smbd/service.c:make_connection(1191) Samba can't connect toservice and unable to run "preexec"

Hello,

I am trying to connect to a shared printer on my Samba server.  I map
the printer just fine on my PC however I get this error in my smbd.log
file:

Jul 29 10:09:00 prntsrv smbd[6298]: [2008/07/29 10:09:00, 0]
smbd/service.c:make_connection(1191) 
Jul 29 10:09:00 prntsrv smbd[6298]:   wh-122413-d820 (64.72.1.50)
couldn't find service neares 

The service is actually called "nearest".  I have another called "alt"
that is getting reported in the same way as "al"

Also both shares are set to run the following preexec statement which is
not running.  But running the command manually from the command prompt
works.

bash -c 'echo Welcome %U to %S! | smbclient -M %m -I %I' &
