Tom,
If you can't get through your servers using your SSH client you can
always use Telnet (although it's very unsecured). That's an option if
you are looking for a portable solution... although SSH would be ideal
if you had it.

I have looked at this, and although it is a possibility, since Windows
does not come with a built in ssh client, it's not a very portable
solution. That being said, if Samba can't do what I want, this is the
approach I will have to take.
