[Samba] authenticating NT users with space in username?

You are pretty wrong. Windows accepts both users and groups name with
spaces (Domain Admins, Domain Users, ...).

what kind of error do you get back, can you explain step by step how to
reproduce it and how it fails?

What samba version? What OS?
