[Samba] Samba and CUPS printing issues

Hello All,

I am facing some problems with the samba 3.0.14a + Cups 1.1.12 and Solaris 10 combination.

I am using the printing services on Samba.

Whenever I give a smbstatus command I get the following error. The clients are able to connect and access the printers, but still this error occurs, which is really weird.

Error:

sessionid.tdb not initialised

/var/log/samba/lock/connections.tdb not initialised

This is normal if an SMB client has never connected to your server.

Failed to open byte range locking database

ERROR: Failed to initialise locking database

Can't initialise locking module – exiting

The two files sessionid.tdb and connections.tdb don’t get created at all.

Also, when I use the cupsaddsmb tool to configure the automatic driver update option, I get the following error:

cli_nt_session_open: cli_nt_create failed on pipe \spoolss to machine <hostname>. Error was ERRSRV - ERRaccess (The requester does not have the necessary access rights within the specified context for the requested function. The context is defined by the TID or the UID.)

Could not initialise \PIPE\spoolss

Looks like something is seriously broken somewhere L

My smb.conf file has the SECURITY=server set at I am using the samba as the domain member to a NT4.0 domain.

Any help on the above would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
