[Samba] "dos filemode" parameter ineffective?

As mentioned in the original post, user_xattr is on and has been tested
to work properly.

As root:

test01:root:/export/data/test>attr -s testatt -V testval  test
Attribute "testatt" set to a 7 byte value for test:
testval
test01:root:/export/data/test>attr -g testatt test
Attribute "testatt" had a 7 byte value for test:
testval

As a user:
test01:scrosby:/export/data/test>-V testval  testfile            <
Attribute "testatt" set to a 7 byte value for testfile:
testval
test01:scrosby:/export/data/test>attr -g testatt testfile
Attribute "testatt" had a 7 byte value for testfile:
testval
