[Samba] Changing Samba-UID

Hi,

on my old Linux Server running Suse 7.3 Kernel 2.4.10 a new user got a uid in
the area of 500 by default, on my new server running Suse 9.2 Kernel 2.6.10 the
default uid is in the area of 1000. Is there a way to "convert" the samba-uid of
an existing user in the smbpasswd so that i can use the old windows-profiles of
that user ?

Example:

Old Linux: User xyz Linux-uid 500 Samba-uid 500
New Linux: User xyz Linux-uid 1000 Samba-uid 1000

Does the samba-uid get's into the Identities-ID from Windows ? How can i manage
a change of the samba-uid in the smbpasswd so that the profiles will still work
as they did it before ?

Carsten
