If you want to stick to what Sun tells you, just run the maintenance 
updates and patch clusters and you're done, it may be a patched 2.2.8a.  
If you want to build your own (which I recommend) then the version is 
3.0.14a.  If you do build your own, be sure to remove the SUNW packages 
first.
