hi,

i tried to compile and run Samba 3.0.20pre2 on one of our servers
yesterday. The servers OS is FreeBSD-5.4.
the configure run was okay, except for the aio part, but thats another
point.
compiling went fine and installation too.
After starting smbd and nmbd i saw all printers but unfortunately all
driver association where lost!
i found out, using rpcclient, that all printernames where converted to
lowercase. In Samba 3.0.14a all printernames where uppercase.
i acted fast and switched back to 3.0.14a to make our clients happy.

here is an example output of rpcclient's "enumprinters 2" command that you
can see the difference.

3.0.14a:
         servername:[\\mysrv]
         printername:[\\mysrv\LJ8150-PS]
         sharename:[LJ8150-PS]
         portname:[Samba Printer Port]
         drivername:[HP LaserJet 8150 PS]
         comment:[HP LaserJet 8150DN (Duplex, B/W)]
         location:[]

3.0.20pre2
         servername:[\\mysrv]
         printername:[\\mysrv\lj8150-ps]
         sharename:[LJ8150-PS]
         portname:[Samba Printer Port]
         drivername:[]
         comment:[HP LaserJet 8150DN (Duplex, B/W)]
         location:[]

can someone point me to a solution where i don't have to install/reassign
all the printer drivers again?

another point, but thats only a minor-minor problem is, the comment
field for the printer is filled with the information of the cups printing
system, but the location field is left blank although this information is
available in the cups printing system.

thanks for any help
Joerg
