In 2.2.4 I had to change the registry in Windows XP in order to join a Samba 
domain.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SYSTEM->CurrentControlSet->Services->Netlogon->Parameters

Change the value of

requiresignorseal

to

0

of course I am using 2.2.4 so it may be different for Samba 3
