[Samba] mount.cifs: mount error 5 = Input/output error

Hi,
when trying to mount a samba share with mount.cifs I get
"mount error 5 = Input/output error"
Mounting a share served by windows it works with the same options
(mount.cifs \\\\server\\share /mnt/test)

the samba server and client run on linux with a UTF-8 locale

What more informations do you need?
