What's your security mode?  I assume if you don't want to be prompted,
it's because you either want no security, or that you do want security
but Samba thinks the credentials you initially supply are incorrect.
Have you looked at the Samba HOWTO?  Anything in the logs?  Your
question is very vague.

Also, Samba 2.2.7 has remotely-exploitable security vulnerabilities, you
should upgrade to at least 2.2.8a.
