[Samba] Re: new user trying to learn

Welcome to the Samba club!

In the share you may set various lists of users, allow, deny, read, write, etc... or you can map through to groups in /etc/group with @groupname syntax, but I am having a problem getting that syntax 
to work in Samba 3.0.4.

Depending if you are a book or screen reader, there are good resources in both areas... the more you read and play, the more will make sense, no way around it.
