[Samba] mount unix share on unix preserving file attributes

Is it possible to mount (using smbmount) a samba share from a linux samba server
on a linux client preserving the file attributes as they are on the server,
thus preserving the executable bit on a per-file basis?

smbmount has the "fmask" and "dmask" arguments, but I do not want to use
these, but use for each file whatever permission it originally has.

thank
Radu
