[Samba] SOLVED: Must a Samba PDC use LDAP for nss?

assuming that you joined the domain...

net rpc join -S NT4PDC -w DOMAIN -U Administrator%admin_password

then 

net rpc vampire -S NT4PDC -U Administrator%admin_password

should work provinding...

- smb.conf should say domain master = no
- smbd & nmbd daemons are NOT running
