[Samba] V2.2.6 + win95 win98 client unable to view files and folders

Hi,
 
I'm having a strange problem with Samba v.2.2.6 and win95 and win98 clients
connecting to it.
I am running Samba on a SCo Unix server v 5.0.7.
The problems is that only files and folders are listed that are having a
"dot" in the file or directory name.
Only windows win95 and win98 are affected. A windows XP client can list the
windata dir. correctly.
Are there any solutions for this problem beside installing a different
version of Samba
