in fact i've looked into winbind logs, and the error that appears is :NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE

look :

[2003/05/14 12:34:51, 1] libsmb/cliconnect.c:cli_full_connection(1003)

failed session setup

[2003/05/14 12:34:51, 3] nsswitch/winbindd_cm.c:get_connection_from_cache(406)

Could not open a connection to SCIENCEU for \PIPE\lsarpc (NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE)

[2003/05/14 12:35:01, 1] nsswitch/winbindd_util.c:init_domain_list(144)

Retrying startup domain sid fetch for SCIENCEU

So if it has to be a netbios name, put the netbios name in a hosts file,
along with the correct IP.

yes but i cant ping the netbios name of my win 2000 ad machine thats why
i've put the IP ...
