If you dig on pserver.samba.org you might find it, but you would need to
be pretty familiar with the Samba source. 2.2.8 is a security release
as you know, so you will also need to dig and find that patch. (The
debian crew have a diff split out in their 2.2.3a-12.1).
I highly recommend an upgrade.
