[Samba] Answer own broadcast

I would like to authenticate web users (via Zope) with their samba log
in.  This works fine if samba and Zope are on different machines but I'd
like to consolidate them to one machine.  It's my understanding that SMB
specifies that a machine shouldn't answer it's own requests. 

So it comes down to: Is it possible to have samba answer a request that
comes from the same machine?
