[Samba] Samba and MAC OSX upgrade from 2.2.3 to 2.2.8a

I have successfully install samba on multiple boxes running Linux.  I now have a MAC G$ with OSX and it came installed with Samba 2.2.3.  I was wondering what I need to do to get 2.2.8a installed on this machine.  I am not familiar enough with developemnt on Mac.  I would like some pointers/details on how to upgrade this machine
