[Samba] no access to passdb when domainlogin from xp client

[Jessheim VGS. Avd Ullersmo]

we have problems with the samba domaincontroller. Upon login of a win XP machine we get the error message: 
Can not open passdb.

What are the reasons for this? how to avoid the problem? User gets veryfied, but not password.
