[Samba] Samba Newbie Question

I'm attempting to install Samba to an existing RH 8 installation. The rpm
gui installer is looking for ver 2.5. I d/led and installed the 2.7.2
install but received errors that seemed to indicate that 2.7.1 was
installed. I then tried to uninstall the 2.7.2 rpm but was informed that it
was not installed. When I check the services that are available Samba is not
listed. What is my next move?
