Hello,
I'm getting these errors on a samba 2.2.8a wins server in a NT4 network:
[2003/11/25 09:41:00, 0] nmbd/nmbd_winsserver.c:wins_process_multihomed_name_registration_request (1022)
wins_process_multihomed_name_registration_request: group name
registration request received for name DOMAIN<00> from IP 192.168.10.5 on
subnet WINS_SERVER_SUBNET. Errror - group names should not be
multihomed.
[2003/11/25 09:41:02, 0] nmbd/nmbd_winsserver.c:wins_process_multihomed_name_registration_request (1022)
wins_process_multihomed_name_registration_request: group name
registration request received for name DOMAIN<00> from IP 192.168.10.5 on
subnet WINS_SERVER_SUBNET. Errror - group names should not be
multihomed.
I get it always from the 192.168.10.5 IP which is a NAS: network
appliance F740 (some more infos about this machine:
http://www.netapp.com/products/filer/spec/f740spec2udp.html)
The PDC is a NT4 machine and the samba machine is the WINS server
because its much faster. There are problems in the network/system except
the above error message.
Here the smb.conf:
[global]
workgroup = DOMAIN
load printers = no
invalid users = root
log file = /var/log/samba/log.%m
log level = 1
max log size = 1000
syslog = 0
encrypt passwords = yes
socket options = TCP_NODELAY
interfaces = eth1 lo
bind interfaces only = yes
# --- Browser Control Options ---
local master = yes
os level = 20
domain master = no
preferred master = no
wins support = yes
min wins ttl = 21600
max wins ttl = 43200
dns proxy = no
name resolve order = lmhosts host wins bcast
Anybody any idea what could be the problem?
Thank you.
