[Samba] receiving change notifications

Hi,

what API do I use for receiving change notifications from an SMB device?

I'm trying to write a userspace application that gets notified when a
directory on an SMB drive gets change. Judging from the code, Samba's smbd
supports this concept. However I can't find any info on how to 'subscribe'
to that info as a user.
