[Samba] Permissions visibility

This doesn't seem to work for me.  Even restarting the workstation fails.

Does anyone know technical details as to whether permissions are cached 
by samba, and if there's some way to refresh permissions info without 
restarting the service?

I'm using Red Hat's samba-2.2.7-3.7.2, BTW.
