You don't get any initial group mappings when you using LDAP.  The code 
for storing group mappings in LDAP (if you have (passdb = ldapsam:...")
was added in 3.0alpha23.  You will need to set them up yourself.

Or migrate them from the mapping TDB if you previously set them up.
