[Samba] can not log onto server

I am setting up a file server and using samba

All the computers on the net work can see the drive, in the network
neighborhood.  (95, 98, NT, 2000 & XP)

But when they go to connect they are prompted for a password.

I have added accounts to the system in both the user and then as well
for SMB and it still does not allow the connection.

Is there somewhere else that I should be looking.  This network has no
domain controller so I can not get user and passwords from there.
