[Samba] Swat authentication problem

Hai,

I just installed samba 3.0-a23 and wanted to have a look at
swat, but authentication fails for user root.
There was another thread about this with the same problem
(samba-2.2.8), but I never saw a solution mentioned is there
anyone who knows what might be causing swat to non-authenticate.

Second question,

I'm running another samba server (3.0-a22) as pdc on the network
which I would like to use as password server for the second
samba server, is this possible and if so where can I find documentation
on this subject? It doesn't seem to be mentioned in the various how-to's
I could find.
I tried by putting:
security = server
password server = <aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd>

in the global section of smb.conf , but that didn't work,
do I need to do something special on the pdc allso?

TIA
Wim Bakker
