[Samba] Samba+pppd on demand

I am having a problem which I am not able to fix.  I am running samba on a
small server which has also a modem installed on it with pppd running in
demand mode.  I configure samba just to bind to eth0 and also setup my hosts
file.  Every time a computer on the network print to the samba server or
connects to the server it trigger the pppd.  I have have a lot of
connections to my ISP which is not wanted.  Any idea what i overlooked?
