[Samba] Timeouts when using smbclient

Hi all,

  I am trying to use smbclient with AMANDA to back up
files on both Windows NT 4 and 2000 machines, but I am
getting the following errors:

? Call timed out: server did not respond after 20000
milliseconds opening remote file
\Cd_ReqsII\R000765.zip (\Cd_ReqsII\)
? Call timed out: server did not respond after 20000
milliseconds opening remote file
\Cd_ReqsII\R000766.zip (\Cd_ReqsII\)
? Call timed out: server did not respond after 20000
milliseconds opening remote file
\Cd_ReqsII\R000767.zip (\Cd_ReqsII\)
? Call timed out: server did not respond after 20000
milliseconds opening remote file
\Cd_ReqsII\R000768.zip (\Cd_ReqsII\)
? Call timed out: server did not respond after 20000
milliseconds opening remote file
\Cd_ReqsII\R000769.zip (\Cd_ReqsII\)
? Call timed out: server did not respond after 20000
milliseconds opening remote file
\Cd_ReqsII\R000770.zip (\Cd_ReqsII\)

etc...

I've run chkdsk on the windows share, verified
permissions were correct, even connected to it
manually with smbclient and was able to access file,
however, I am still getting these errors night after
night with each backup.

Is there something I can try to fix this?
