[Samba] XP Pro And Samba

I have a win98 peer to peer network using a Samba server for file sharing.
There 6 Machines on the net.  I'm adding a XP Pro and cannot see the neighborhood network.  I can get out to the Internet.  I've made sure the workgroup name is correct and the XP is not set as DHCP.  Our router is the DHCP.  Is there something different about setting up the user for the XP Pro?  I'm creating the user by:  adduser, passwd, smbpasswd -a.
Any help would be appreciated.
