[Samba] installing and configuring winbind woes

I just downloaded and installed the rpm for samba2.2.2.  

while trying to set up winbind I get an error about missing files.  See
below.

[root at fs samba]# smbpasswd -j CG -r CGBackup -U Administrator
Password: 
tdb((null)): tdb_open_ex: could not open file
/var/cache/samba/unexpected.tdb: No such file or directory

What must I do to fix this?
