[Samba] Failed to initialize locking database

  I'm checking a failed, out of the box rh7.2 install and smbstatus is
exiting with the error message: "failed to initialize locking database,"
Can anyone help troubleshoot a remedy?
    More generally is there a browseable list of all samba related error
messages that I can search somewhere?
