[Samba] Samba 2.2.2 as a PDC for XP logins

The saga continues...

After further testing this is now my problem. I have an XP box that can
log on to the domain fine. The problem starts when I try to mount
things. If the samba share is local to the samba server (ie on its hard
disk) then everything works fine, I can mount the directory and read and
write to it. However if the samba share is an nfs mount on the samba
server I cant mount the directory at all. It gives me a 'the network
path \\cs-enterprise\directory can not be found' error. The permissions
on the directories in question are identical, 700.

If I make the nfs mounted share group readable I get the same error, but
if I make it world readable, I am able to mount it but get an 'Access
Denied' error if I try to write to the share.

Any ideas?

In my case, I had to apply the registry hack PLUS change the following
Local Security Settings (Start -> All Programs -> Administrative Tools
->
Local Security Settings):

Domain member: Digitally encrypt or sign secure channel data -->
disabled Domain member: Disable machine account password changes -->
disabled Domain member: Require strong (Windows 2000 or later) session
key -->
disabled

I monkeyed with multiple options of the above four options, and the only

way I could get XP to login to my Samba PDC was the above combo.

Best,
/tom
