[Samba] samba and Win2k

I am running samba 2.0.6 on Mandrake 7.0.  After converting all of our desktop PC from NT to Win2k, our samba connections have been flaky at best.  Most recently, samba has dropped the connections, and it will not allow a connect again.  I know that samba is still running, because our lone NT server still has not failed to reconnect.  I tried to install samba 2.2.3a from rpms.  The installation returned a list of dependancy errors.

Do I need a newer version of samba?
