[Samba] Why nmbd shouldn't run as inetd?

My manpage (man nmbd) says,
    "nmbd can also be operated from the inetd meta-daemon,
although this is not recommended"

I wonder why is this so. What kind of troubles am I gonna have if I set
nmbd as a daemon.

I have Version 2.2.3a-6 for Debian
