[Samba] samba-2.2.3a with ldap: no logins after a while

I'm still in the process of gathering logs and such. So far, I have tcpdump
captures (yeah, I know 2.2.5 is out, will try it too).

Randomly, it seems, the server will be deaf to logon requests from win98
workstations.

Network traces show that the workstation:
- sends to the broadcast address: NETLOGON LM1.0/LM2.0 LOGON REQUEST
- after 3s, it repeats it twice quickly and then sends the same thing to
  the samba server (specific IP).
- 3 more seconds and it tries the broadcast address again and then the specific
  IP of the samba server.

After a while, the workstation stops trying and errors.

As I said, I'm still analyzing logs (have over 80Mb to go through!), so far
I only found the following in the logs of a specific machine (log.netbios-name-of-the-machine):

[2002/04/29 15:45:09, 4] smbd/lanman.c:get_server_info(1179)
  s: dom mismatch CCTV 80001000 CCTV_SERVER1 CCTV
[2002/04/29 15:45:09, 4] smbd/lanman.c:get_server_info(1194)
  **SV** CCTV_SERVER1 d9b0b Samba Server 2.2.3a CCTV
[2002/04/29 15:45:09, 4] smbd/lanman.c:get_server_info(1179)
  s: dom mismatch BBS 80001000 TMRR_02 BBS
[2002/04/29 15:45:09, 4] smbd/lanman.c:get_server_info(1179)
  s: dom mismatch UOKX 80001000 UOKX09 UOKX
(...)

What does this "dom mismatch" mean? Could this be related?
Has anybody experienced this behaviour before?
BTW, the machine is really lightly loaded, it barely touches 0.5 load avg.
