Logging user-login at PDC

Hi list,

I've managed to set um Samba 2.2.1 as a PDC for Win2K and Win95 Clients, 
so they are centrally authorized. But in my log-files I could only find 
logs for the machines and nothing about logins. Now I'd like to know 
when wich user connected and when they disconnected (we're talking about 
computers at a school here...). I've tried it with

	log file = /var/log/samba/samba-log.%u

but all I found is a logfile /var/log/samba/samba-log.%u ...
What am I doing wrong?
