static wins entry??

I am trying to add a static WINS mapping for a computer on a remote
network, so that I can access shared printers on that system.  There is
not a samba server on that network, and clients on the remote network
login to the samba PDC on the main network.
As I understand adding a line to LMHOSTS only works for the local
machine and will not resolve for clients.
Does anybody know how to add static WINS mappings, or know of a valid
workaround??
