Weird Windows Messenger and Samba Domain problem

Hi Rob,

You should have created the machine accounts before trying to join the
domain, for example:

your windows machine is called for example WORK001, you must create an unix
account work001$ and then run smbpasswd -a -m work001.

then you should connect as a local administrator and try to join the domain.
Note that you have to supply the root login and password at the end of this
procedure.

if you have any success please let me know.

About my problem, I've just figured out that if I add my domain account to
the local Power Users group, when I connect to the domain my messenger
works, but I could only add user accounts, I couldn't add the DOMAIN\Domain
Users to the local Power Users group. This is not a very useful workaround
because it's not very effective.

Good Luck,

Alessandro Oliveira
