Cannot copy <file name>: Invalid MS-DOS function

I have a very odd problem when copy large number of files from samba server 2.0.7 (HPUX 11.0) to Windows 2000. The copy process always fail with error message "Cannot copy <file name>: Invalid MS-DOS function."

Wandering anyone of you encountered this problem before. If yes, how you resolved this problem? 

Greatly appreciated if I can get some advice on this matter.
